Our Remodeling Process
Four clear steps from first call to final walkthrough, so you know what happens next and what you are paying for.

Example design inspiration, not a completed Northvale project.
1. Discovery & Consultation
We talk through your goals by phone, then visit your home to see the space, measure, and look at structure, plumbing and electrical. We discuss budget openly so the design starts from a realistic number.
2. Design & Scope Development
You receive a written, line-item scope and estimate. Allowances for items you have not picked yet are listed separately. Selections are scheduled so materials arrive before the trades need them. Where required, drawings and permit applications are prepared and submitted.
3. Construction
Work follows the schedule in your agreement. Living areas are protected, the site is cleaned daily, and required inspections happen before walls are closed. You get regular updates and one point of contact for questions and change requests.
4. Punch-List & Walkthrough
We walk the finished space with you, list anything that needs attention, and complete those items. Final inspections are closed out and you receive care information for new finishes and fixtures.
| Step | You receive |
|---|---|
| Discovery & Consultation | On-site visit and budget conversation |
| Design & Scope Development | Itemized written estimate and schedule |
| Construction | Regular updates and inspection milestones |

Why process matters
Most remodeling problems come from unclear scope, late selections and poor communication, not from the work itself. A defined process gives you a written plan, a schedule and a single point of contact before demolition starts.
Step 1 in detail: Discovery & Consultation
- Phone conversation about goals, timing and budget range.
- On-site visit to measure and inspect structure, plumbing, electrical and HVAC.
- Discussion of permits, HOA requirements and access.
- Initial ideas and options at different budget levels.
Step 2 in detail: Design & Scope Development
- Layout and selections, with allowances for items not yet chosen.
- Written line-item estimate: labor, materials, permits, engineering.
- Schedule with milestones and inspection points.
- Payment schedule tied to progress.
Step 3 in detail: Construction
- Protection of floors and living areas, daily cleanup.
- Rough-in work and required inspections before walls close.
- Regular updates and a clear change-order process.
- Finishes installed in the planned sequence.
Step 4 in detail: Punch-List & Walkthrough
- Joint walkthrough of every finished surface.
- Written punch list and completion of each item.
- Final inspections and permit closeout.
- Care information for new finishes and fixtures.
